Whilst studying on the Information Design course I have undertaken a range of projects which have been particularly motivated by the oppositions of subjectivity/ objectivity, and intuition/rationalising within design processes. As I have been discovering, the balance of these oppositions can define the designer’s process, developments and outcome. The projects featured here have been approached from varying degrees of these oppositions based on appropriateness to the type and function of specific project, such as the application of objective, systematic design strategies within problem solving activities, and individual intuition in response to open briefs, which develop through interpretation rather than on predetermined goals.
